MONTREAL - For R.J. Umberger, it would be a dream to face the Pittsburgh Penguins in the NHL Eastern Conference final.
Umberger, who turned 26 on Saturday, is a Pittsburgh native who was inspired by watching Penguins great Mario Lemieux to take up hockey as a child.
Now playing the wing for the Philadelphia Flyers, the brawny Umberger is getting close enough to taste it.
"It's been fun every time I've played against them," he said Saturday, hours before Game 5 of the Flyers' playoff series with the Montrea

MONTREAL - It was Martin Biron's night to shine in goal for the Philadelphia Flyers.
Biron made 34 saves and his good friend Daniel Briere got the game-winner as the Flyers downed the Montreal Canadiens 4-2 in the NHL playoffs on Saturday night.

PHILADELPHIA - Daniel Briere saved the game for the Flyers in regulation and Mike Knuble got them a win away from the second round in a thrilling double-overtime finish.
Knuble poked in his second goal of the series 6:40 into the second OT to give Philadelphia a 4-3 win over the Washington Capitals on Thursday night and a 3-1 series lead.
Jeff Carter scored twice for the Flyers, who can finish off the Caps in Game 5 on Saturday in Washington.
The Caps have dropped three straight in the series and it could

VOORHEES, N.J. - Patrick Thoresen gingerly walks through the Flyers' locker room, still needs ice to ease swelling in his groin and is unlikely to play in Game 3 of Philadelphia's playoff series against Washington.
While blocking a shot Friday in Game 1, the Flyers' forward took a puck to the groin and nearly lost one of his testicles.
He said Monday, when he wasn't joking about his scary injury to reporters, he would slide in front of a whizzing puck again if he had to block a shot this post-season.
