    HockeyStreams on Popcorn Hour
Use the following procedure to watch games on your Popcorn Hour C-200. (Note: MMS appears to be supported only for C-200 and not earlier units).

    1. Generate an IP Exception (click here)

    2. Find the MMSH or MMS URL from the game you want to watch by starting the game in your browser. If you're using Totem player on Linux, click Copy in the menu. (Sorry I don't have Window instructions at the moment. Try viewing properties of the stream).

    3. On your PC, create an HTML file (eg. HockeyStreams.html). Enter the following HTML code (replace the MMS url with the one you found in step 2). MMSH will not work, the url must begin with MMS. Do not forget to include the letters vod at the end of the <a href> tag.

    CODE:
    <html> <BODY BGCOLOR=000000 TEXT=777777 LINK=C38EC7> <BODY>
    <b>HockeyStreams</b> <br> <br> <a href=mms://cdn-a-4.distrubutionaire.com/PREMIUM_HSTV_8B?token=KBk2M+H+5Fe7j7rezbI/asde+0n8T34d7u0/oqSgLvevxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx7CBydHB0wjCfBz6/Fw==&MSWMExt=.asf vod>My Hockey Game</a> <br>
    </body> </html>

    4. Copy the newly created HTML file to the Popcorn Hour. Alternatively, you can load the file over the network if you have the appropriate network share configured.

    5. Open the HTML file on the PCH. Select the link, and the game should be playing.

Any ideas to streamline the process would be welcomed.

That's awesome, I'm glad you figured it out!

On a quick note you'll have to change the mms//... part to the current game's direct link.

If you know how to get it work using RSS feeds I can get an RSS feed set up for you to use that would have the direct links, let me know.

An RSS feed would be very handy.

When I tried using the direct HTTP link, the PCH wouldn't play it. I guess if its playing mms:// the PCH can't handle loading via http://

The only way I could get it to work is via mms:// links. Is there any issue on your end doing that? Are you able to generate an RSS feed with mms:// links?

Also, only the HQ feeds work for some reason (no HD or HDplus). When loading the HD feeds, the PCH shows the buffering screen forever. I may try and get some ideas on this over at the NMT forums.

Yea - I'll get our web developers to create an RSS file with the direct MMS links in them. Should be ready by Monday.

    Thanks!

Yep, the mms links will become active about 30 minutes before a game starts. Make sure to have an ip exception.

I'm considering getting a gadget similar to popcorn hour - only about 1/2 the price made by Patriot. Will this process work for it? Is there a typical way to do this stuff with a media player?

It appears the PCH doesn't currently handle the RSS feed well - without application development anyway.

How difficult would it be for your developers to generate an html page with a simple format that would be directly readable by PCH? The format it needs is:

    <a href=mms://.... vod> link_name </a>
The vod part tells PCH it is a video stream. It also needs links to begin with mms://

I can develop one for myself, but might be nice for all owners to have access.

    Thanks

i was considering getting a popcorn hour ( would probably take a month or two with the wait) but i was wondering how the RSS feeds are working. are people currently using them? also how well do they work? and are 3 formats of the game via RSS? i have a Western Digital Media Player i bought when i got my tv just to hold me out until i had money for a popcorn hour. but i thought i'd ask here too are they worth the money?
