I'm also having streaming issues on my Mac. I paid for the HD Plus feed, but the HD Plus streams are unwatchable. They just stutter and chug, buffering every minute or so. The HD general streams can play for a little while longer before also just stopping to buffer, sometimes several times in a matter of seconds.
I've tried playing them through Firefox and Safari, I've tried streaming them through Quicktime 10 (I'm on Snow Leopard), and I've had the most luck just using VLC. These streaming issues also existed when I was just on Leopard.
My Mac Pro is hooked directly to my modem, and my average speed to the Montreal server (after testing it several times) is more than twice of what you ask for in your buffering troubleshooting guide, yet I still can't get decent stream without resorting to the SD streams. I don't share the connection with anyone, and I never have anything downloading or uploading while watching a stream.
Is this happening only on a mac? Try playing with the settings for your Airport router as I know that's fixed issues for more than a handful of people using macs.

Not just happening on my Mac. It seems to run a little better through a PC, but even that doesn't stream HD Plus or the HD normal feed consistently. I'm not using AirPort at all. I have my Mac connected directly to my modem. My net connection is the fastest Elite package that AT&T offers here, and I've monitored it while trying to stream; there's nothing wrong with my net connection...I guess the link between where I am and your hosting server is really weak, even though the netstats I generated more than fit what you require.

Right, this season I'm having issues viewing streams on my mac. I'm guessing it's the snow leopard upgrade...
I've downloaded the new flip4mac beta, when I click a stream I get an endless barrage of tabs opening up top that continue opening til I force quite firefox/safari. Anyone else having this issue?
I can copy the direct feed and open in QT X or 7 or VLC, but having buffering issues, ie. the stream can buffer for a few minutes while I pause, then when I play back with a decent buffer in front of the playhead the audio keeps dropping and the video freezes and artefacts even though it appears to be pre-loaded. (For this issue it may have been my internet connection playing up last night)
The main concern is this being raped by constant opening of tabs when I click on any stream. Is there something Hockeystreams end that might cause this as I don't know why this would happen?
*edit: streaming rangers and ducks live tonight seems fine... still being jumped on by a million tabs opening. Must be some sort of error where it tries to open video, fails, tries to open in a new tab, fails... weird)

aha! thank you sir, I can now safely open a stream and grab the direct link to open in VLC without being attacked by firefox tabs! (the weirdest thing is it would still get FF even if I clicked on the stream in safari!)
