Burk has said it himself, this year the goal is to make the playoffs. The method of his ways is to hire big heavy hitting players, good in the corners and heavy on physicality and fighting. His plan is to make other teams fear the leafs presence.

Is the the kind of team we want? Since he started his tirade of picking up bruisers and gooneys it was a bit exciting.. looking forward to the Leafs beating the crud out of other teams which is awesome... But who is going to score the goals to win the game?!

Here are the best scorers the team has, top 5

    Jason Blake 25*38*63
    Alexei Ponikarovsky 23*38*61
    Matt Stajan 15*40*55
    Mikhail Grabovski 20*28*48
    Nicholas Hagman 22*20*42

I don't know what that means when Blake, an ice pest, has the most points on the team. Not one of the players introduced to the team this year has any scoring ability.

So unless our draft choice in the top ten, Nazem Kadri, develops fast and comes to the nhl with guns blazing, I'm not to sure the playoffs are a possibility. But i do understand the concept of a 3 year, 5 and 10 year plan. This is only year one of three for Burke.. I look forward to his scoring lines.

Actually, Kadri looks pretty good as well as Stepniak ?
